Straight Hair, Straight A’s, Straight Forward, Straight Girl? Little Miss Perfect, the viral song phenomenon that has been viewed over 50 million times is now the full-length musical that focuses a social-media-era lens on identity: the version you present, the version you protect, and the version that’s real.
Perfection is a lot of pressure. Just ask Noelle, who has spent her whole life living up to everyone’s expectations, even as she works to blend in as one of the few Black students at a predominantly white school. Now it’s senior year, and a scholarship to Howard University, and a way out of her small Midwestern town, is finally within reach, if she can just win student body president. But when an unexpected romance sparks with the new foreign exchange student, Malaya, Noelle’s carefully constructed world begins to crack. One secret could destroy everything.
Joriah Kwamé’s irresistible, infectious score blends musical theatre, pop, hip hop, and gospel, and features the viral sensations “Little Miss Perfect” and “Ordinary” along with new songs that are bound to garner the same acclaim. With high-energy, inventive choreography by Chloe O. Davis and bold, contemporary and deeply human direction by Zhailon Levingston, the show delivers a fresh theatrical language that feels as immediate as your feed and as resonant as your deepest truth.
The world premiere production of Little Miss Perfect plays at Olney Theatre Center February 8 – March 8, 2026 and is a pivotal proof-of-concept moment as the musical builds momentum towards future commercial productions.
